The architects brief focused on baking pans, in this project we used authentic ready-made baking pans combined with glass drinking glasses. We chose flower like pans and lighted them with decorative incandescent bulbs. Creating the large hanging lighting fixtures shaped as baking pans required us to develop a special mold that enabled us to produce acrylic fixtures with a special wet paint metal color finish. These fixtures are lit by T5 fluorescent bulbs for maximum illumination . We added to this collection standing lighting fixtures to lit the seating area of the cafe. These bodies were designed and inspired by the structure of industrial dough mixers. Coffee shop Tel Aviv port – Metalic shades – This project comprised a dialogue with architect Ronen Levin that lead us to a ping-pong process in several stages with an emphasis on metal lighting fixtures in bold colors and a meticulous finish. Our challenge was to create a composition of metallic light fixtures in lively colors and different sizes, while maintaining a delicate airy look to them and avoiding the heaviness that usually characterizes large metal bodies. Our solution was creating subtle separations in the outer cylinder shell enabling light to hatch it, which adds to the metal body an additional design detail emphasizing its airy appearance. The meticulous finish was achieved by crafting and silver soldering by hand. The lighting composition integrates the colorful joy that characterizes the “loveit “chain Read more!
