Studio Beam for Facebook – Social- lighting: Lighting up the new Facebook offices in Tel-Aviv Arc’ – Michael Setter Architects Senior Designer – Shirli Zamir The new Facebook office complex in Tel Aviv is spread over four floors of total of 3300 square meters planned and designed by Setter architects- one of the leading architectural firms in Israel. Facebook offices in Tel Aviv comprise of open flowing spaces that provide the creative necessary “hip” inspiring atmosphere which is achieved by creating a combination of open and transparent office spaces designed with natural materials wood, steel, Iron, natural colored textiles, organic plant walls, graffiti and multi – colored arabesques. The prominent social interaction atmosphere that is so identified with Facebook – is reflected in the huge industrial flavored office space that combines workstations with fun, play, recreation and lounge areas, and in its center heart an open kitchen inviting office team interaction over a luxurious lunch break. Light Crumble: lighting fixture collection for Michalis bakery & Cafe Architect- Yaron Tal Lighting- Studio Beam The design concept of the lighting fixture collection for Michalis Bakery & Cafe was the enchanting world of bakery. The architects brief focused on baking pans, in this project we used authentic ready-made baking pans combined with glass drinking glasses. We chose flower like pans and lighted them with decorative incandescent bulbs. Creating the large hanging lighting fixtures shaped as baking pans required us to develop a special mold that enabled us to produce acrylic fixtures with a special wet paint metal color finish. These fixtures are lit by T5 fluorescent bulbs for maximum illumination . We added to this collection standing lighting fixtures to lit the seating area of the cafe. These bodies were designed and inspired by the structure of industrial dough mixers. This collection includes the mixed use of Ready-made items with custom made items, which reflects the unique language of the bakery’s architecture. Read more!

Asian restaurant – origami light – Arc’ – Liat Asig & Nir Portal The impressive design project of “ONE” Asian restaurant in Tel – Aviv challenged our studio on a new technical level: we were asked to build a big geometrical lighting fixture, We started with the process of “cracking” down the geometry of the body and finding technical solutions to execute a lighting fixture of this magnitude. We processed & computerized the geometry and planed accordingly a main structure, dressed it in a soft shell layer – allowing maximal flexibility of the geometrical design. The Floating cranes of Asian fusion “River ” restaurant in Raanana Architect Guy Velikson and Dudi Azuz Floating objects – by Studio beam The design concept of the architect of the “River “ project was inspired by origami – Japanese paper folding art featuring in his vision of a flock of cranes in the sky. We received an abstract sketch of the objects the chosen materiel was white corian palettes – a unique prestigious material that enables a sharp absolute finish of clean folded corners, as same as the origami design language. The corian is the perfect material since it’s known for the wide selection of sculpturing options it can be used for. The floating cranes from the ceiling of the River restaurant emphasis the Asian fusion design in which the restaurants space and the menu served in the place speak in the same language. Read more!
Coffee shop Tel Aviv port – Metalic shades – This project comprised a dialogue with architect Ronen Levin that lead us to a ping-pong process in several stages with an emphasis on metal lighting fixtures in bold colors and a meticulous finish. Our challenge was to create a composition of metallic light fixtures in lively colors and different sizes, while maintaining a delicate airy look to them and avoiding the heaviness that usually characterizes large metal bodies. Our solution was creating subtle separations in the outer cylinder shell enabling light to hatch it, which adds to the metal body an additional design detail emphasizing its airy appearance.
